Navigating Life's Storms: A Father's Journey Through Anxiety

Hey Self Maders,

It's been a while, hasn't it? Life has a way of keeping us on our toes, doesn't it? Between the demands of work and the ever-present responsibilities of fatherhood, finding a moment to catch our breath can feel like a luxury.

But let's talk about something that's been weighing heavy on my mind lately: anxiety. Last night, it hit me like a ton of bricks. The pressure from work, the looming bills, and the milestones of my children seemed to converge into a perfect storm of panic.

Have you ever been there? That moment when the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear, and the simple act of breathing becomes a struggle? It's not easy, is it? I've had my fair share of panic attacks, but last night was different. It lingered, refusing to let go, no matter what I tried.

I attempted every trick in the book—breathing exercises, physical activity, even mindless distraction in front of the TV—but nothing seemed to ease the grip of anxiety. It wasn't until the early hours of the morning, exhausted and drained, that sleep finally claimed me.

So here's my question to you: What do you do when anxiety comes knocking at your door? How do you weather the storm when it feels like the world is closing in around you?

Let's open up this conversation and share our experiences. After all, we're in this together, navigating the highs and lows of fatherhood side by side.

Until next time,

Stephen
